Medical Fitouts | The Health Collective ...
With a vision of creating the first heath co-working space in Melbourne, Dr Poustie purchased a tenancy located in the heart of Sydney Road. With a passion for assisting & driving growth for start-up and existing healthcare practitioners, Dr Poustie awarded Icon Interiors the design & construct medical fitout project delivery for the new Melbourne health co-working space.
With the somewhat dilapidated tenancy as the base to work from, Dr Poustie approach several medical fitout companies to design and construct the highest revenue generating practice possible within the limitations of the tenancy. The proposed designs had achieved 5 or 6 rooms, when at this time Dr Poustie reached out to Icon Interiors. Upon a collaborative design review and assessment of the structural capabilities of the tenancy, the Icon Studio cracked the design code within the tenancy, creating a floorplan blueprint with 9 consulting rooms.
They (other design companies) had come up with 5 or 6 rooms. When you came back with 9 rooms, it was super impressive. I didn’t think it was possible….the outcome is absolutely outstanding
DR DAMIEN POUSTIE, CLINIC DIRECTOR
The engineered floorplan was now created, achieving an extraordinary space utilisation score, with an additional 3 – 4 more consulting rooms than was thought possible. It was up to the interiors team to create a special visual & felt experience. The building had been extended sometime long in the past, and it had been refitted several times over the years, resulting in a layered patchwork existence. Fuelled with the challenge, Icon identified long covered over original structural features including an original red brick wall that was hidden under render and several plaster walls. Removing multiple ceilings, allowed a vaulted ceiling design, and things were now on the way for a truly special & unique health co-working space.
